Well, since the title is the expert Sphere Grid i'll take the opportunity to ask a question. The Expert Grid has everyone start fairly close together, and while paths still exist, it's much easier to switch characters to other paths from the start.Īt endgame, there is practically no difference between the two because eventually everyone can learn everything anyway, on either Grid.īoth Grids have the same abilities available, just in different places. ![]() What actually is the Expert Sphere Grid What is the big difference between this one and the Standard. The Standard Grid has slightly more total nodes available, but that's not relevant unless you plan to fill absolutely every single node ever, which is neither required nor advisable as it's just a waste of your time. If you want the achievement for filling every node, you want LESS nodes you have to fill, so for that, pick the Expert Grid. But that's just an achievement, it has no real effect on gameplay as even if you max every relevant stat that still leaves you more than a hundred nodes left over (iirc). The music thing is purely up to taste, pick whichever you like. It's always been in the game, since the oldest PS2 days. The grids mainly differ in layout, and slightly in the total number of nodes. They have all the same abilities on them, just in different places. While the standard grid is set-and-forget, the expert grid is much more challenging and requires careful planning. The standard sphere grid will have each character start out on a fairly clearly defined path, according to their default role - that means Lulu as a Black Mage, Auron as a Warrior, and so on. If you have the patience, you can farm Spheres for gold and AP. You can fill the sphere grid for each of your characters, and if you do well enough, you can unlock the Sphere Master achievement. Characters are fairly separated and switching onto a different path is difficult. Standard vs Expert sphere grid : r/finalfantasyx r/finalfantasyx 5 min. The expert sphere grid also has characters start on their respective paths, however the layout is so that you can fairly easily move onto other paths if you so desire. Standard vs Expert sphere grid Want to come back for the platinum. ![]() People who have done it, what grid did you pick and why I'm having a hard time deciding. The characters start loosely around the center of the grid and everything branches off from there. ![]() ![]() If you want to make Yuna a Warrior or go into thieving with Kimahri, it doesn't take long to get there.Īt endgame, the differences are fairly immaterial. All characters can still get everything, and since AP and spheres are virtually infinite at postgame levels of content, the layout doesn't matter much. If you’re wondering what the differences are between the FFX Expert Sphere grid and the Standard one, then please read on. The standard SG does have slightly more total nodes available, however this will never matter unless you choose to try and max out HP at 99,999 - which is a terrible idea in and of itself and actively worse than keeping HP at 9,999, but the choice is yours. More nodes does also mean that getting the "fill the entire SG" achievement is slightly harder on standard.įinal Fantasy X was one of my favorite games during the PlayStation 2 era of gaming.
